Daily Progress

I think that the thing I love the most about starting a new hobby is how fast you can see improvements.  That is exactly what is going on with me and  handcycling.  Now that I have the glove figured out for my left hand my average speed is going up everyday.

There is a 13 mile very hilly loop around my house that I have been doing a lot of riding on.  This was the first big ride that I went on after getting a handcycle.  It took me a little over 3 hours to do the first time.  Now only a few weeks later I can do it in about an hour and a half.  Seeing that kind of progress is a great motivator.

On another note today was the last day of physical therapy.  I have now hit a point where I no longer need a trainer, I just need to practice what they have taught me on my own. This was something that came as a surprise to me today.  It really feels great to finally be at this point.

Last night I had another great surprise.  Amy decided to give me my birthday present early.  She gave me a Go Pro helmet camera.  This is one of the best helmet cameras on the market.  Now I can start filming some of the big down hills with a first person angle.  I couldn’t be luckier.
